‘Respect is fading, these controversies die down in three days’ — Saud speaks out on a private TV show
Veteran Pakistani film and television actor Saud has publicly criticised actress Nadia Khan, accusing her of stirring up discord within the entertainment industry.
Saud made the remarks during an appearance on a private television channel’s programme, where he fielded questions from the audience in a light-hearted segment.
During the show, a woman in the audience asked for his views on the podcast era — a time, she said, when people dig up old matters just to gain fame.
In response, Saud said the trend had become all too common and that mutual respect was on the decline. He recalled watching a recent interview in which a female host posed controversial questions, something he said he did not appreciate at all.
Naming Nadia Khan directly, the actor claimed she had quizzed a businessman’s daughter in the same provocative manner. According to Saud, Khan has caused considerable mischief in the industry — first making remarks about actor Humayun Saeed and then about actress Atiqa Odho. He alleged that she sows hatred in everyone’s hearts.
Saud, however, ended on a positive note about the industry itself. “Our industry is very good,” he said, adding that such controversies are short-lived and fizzle out within three days.
