The emergency talks in Riyadh next week will bring together the three member states of the Mecca defence pact: Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
According to Reuters, the agenda centers on Iran’s suggestion of politically engaging Yemen’s Houthis rather than pursuing kinetic military action.
Dar said the proposal offers a diplomatic alternative at a time of heightened regional tensions.
He added that more than six countries have expressed interest in joining the defence pact, signaling its growing appeal.
Dar also clarified that there is no fee for crossing the Strait of Hormuz, addressing speculation around the key waterway.
